When in doubt, wear black.

While this might be the safe, comfortable option, let’s face it, it can also be pretty boring.

And there are some moments when you don’t want to fade into the background. You deserve to shine, not to hide.

After looking at all the stunning red carpet creations at the recent Screen Actors Guild Awards 2015, I decided to look back at how some of my favourite plus-size stars have rocked the red carpet without having to resort to black.

Let me know – which do you love, and which do you loathe?

If there’s one lady who really knows how to dress herself, it’s Oprah Winfrey. Here she is at the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards looking superb.

3 Comments on Curvy inspiration from the red carpet

  1. Brooks is show-stopping. Breathtaking. Latifah’s dress is awesome. MacCarthy: uh uh — floral couch (love her bag, though). Sidibe: Nearly, but no. That colour is just a touch too dull on her — jade wd be better, and lose the puff sleeves. Wilson: colour, style lovely, but just an inch too low cut. IMO. The rest are lovely — thanks for posting!

    • Thanks for reading Helen. Really wish we’d see a greater variety of body shapes on the red carpet, period – can’t tell you how hard it was to find these few I put together!
